YUNUIK

YUNUIK is an exhibition and sales gallery that brings together the very best of handicrafts and folk art from Peru’s Amazon region. Located in the heart of Miraflores (Calle Bellavista 590), the gallery is housed in a heritage building from 1910, within a neighborhood designated as a monumental urban area.

Peru is home to 55 Indigenous peoples, of which 51 live in the Amazon rainforest. YUNUIK celebrates this diversity through a carefully curated collection of pieces crafted by 19 Indigenous communities. The artworks reflect the rich natural materials of the region and the ancestral techniques that transform them into true cultural treasures.

Each item — whether rooted in traditional use or adapted for the modern market — is authentically made within native communities, ensuring its cultural value and origin.

The project is led by Josefa Nolte, a respected anthropologist with deep expertise in Amazonian craft production and Indigenous cultures. Her career includes leadership roles in cultural heritage preservation and community development in Peru.

Visiting YUNUIK offers more than just a shopping experience — it’s a genuine encounter with the traditions, creativity, and identity of Peru’s Amazon.
