Quinta Bustos was built in 1935 by architect Lidio Mongilardi Forno, who designed the project, while Jimeno Hermanos oversaw the construction. It is located halfway down the 500 block of Avenida 28 de Julio, between Avenida Larco and Alcanfores Street, and is considered one of the tourist attractions of Miraflores.
The complex consists of four three-story residences built along the same sidewalk, each with a private, enclosed parking area. Inside the property, there are several multi-family homes, each also featuring its own parking space.
Old photographs confirm that the land was once a large, undeveloped lot. Like many residences built during that era, both the facades and interiors of the houses feature fine architectural details that enhance their heritage value, along with green areas that add to their beauty.
One of the most distinctive features of these homes is the arched design of the doors, windows with diagonal corner ornaments, and plaster frames surrounding both doors and windows. Additionally, curious columns of varying sizes can be seen, as well as service doors and both interior and exterior staircases, indicating that the homes are multi-family dwellings. The homes are also identified by alphabet letters, adding to the architectural charm of the complex.
Over time, some houses have been modified, as suggested by differences in their finishes. However, most retain well-preserved elements that appear to be part of the original design. Another noteworthy detail is the ceiling height of approximately 3.5 meters per level, which is reflected in the steepness of the staircases—typical of the architectural style of that period.
