Historic sanctuary where brave Peruvians and residents of Miraflores gave their lives in defense of the nation during the Battle of Miraflores on January 15, 1881.
Today, it features an on-site museum, a locomotive from Cusco, and a vintage railway car that once connected Lima and Chorrillos.
Named in honor of the greatest hero of Peruvian resistance during the War of the Pacific, this site preserves the remains and memories of the Battle of Miraflores. It includes two exhibition rooms: the Cáceres Room and the Miraflores Room, showcasing oil paintings of Marshal Cáceres and his family, personal belongings, silverware, military uniforms, and a scale model illustrating the entire Breña campaign.
This site is part of our walking tour: Heroic Miraflores.
